VISIT

Come inside to step back in time and discover the history of the Sydney Harbour Bridge as you ascend over 200 steps to the Lookout for incredible views of Sydney.

PYLON LOOKOUT

See the best Sydney has to offer from the original city Lookout, including a unique view of Sydney Harbour’s icons – the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. You may even spot some BridgeClimbers!

The glass view-finder at the observation area will guide you to locate Sydney’s surrounding suburbs. You are even able to see as far out as the Olympic Stadium in Homebush Bay and the Blue Mountains!

Indoors, there’s a place to relax after reaching the top and view an exclusive Sydney photography series as part of BridgeClimb’s Artist in Residence Program, with stunning photos by professional and amateur photographers alike.

PYLON MUSEUM

Throughout the Museum you will discover a number of exhibits about the construction of the Bridge, the brave workers and interesting artefacts from the collection of Chief Engineer JJC Bradfield.

The displays throughout the Museum examine why it took so long to realise a Harbour Bridge and consider the engineering challenges that a steel arch presented.

Suspended from the ceiling you will find a model representing the day the arches joined (19 August 1930). The two half arches of the bridge are secured with a massive centre pin. The model illustrates the centre pin that was used to fasten the arches together.

Explore the glamorous early years of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the evolution of the South East Pylon and relive the magic of the opening celebrations.
