was great excitement after the arch was successfully joined in August
1930.

two half-arches were built out progressively from each shore, each
held back by 128 cables anchored underground through U-shaped tunnels.

the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It also remembers
the 16 men who died from injuries incurred while on the job.
